ABOUT COLORADO VETERANS ALLIANCE

Founded in 2007 to address the growing needs of the Centennial
State's Veterans and active duty military communities, Colorado
Veterans Alliance is the premiere statewide organization dedicated to
serving, protecting and promoting the interests of  32,000 post 9/11
Colorado Veterans, active duty service members and their families.

CVA utilizes advocacy, policy research, legislative action and media
relations to promote the interests of Veterans by:

  • Providing education and information about Veterans benefits
  • Priority VA claims adjudication and assistance with VA casework
  • Assuring timely access to comprehensive mental and health care
    for Veterans and their families
  • Providing policy guidance to elected and appointed officials on
    issued affecting Veterans
  • Promoting cross generational camaraderie among Veterans of all  
    conflicts and eras through workshops, retreats, forums and
    mentoring.
  • Empowering Veterans to be a voice and a force for change in
    our communities and nationwide.

ABOUT CAPTAIN RICK DUNCAN

Originally from La Jolla, California, Rick Duncan enlisted in the United
States Marine Corps as a proud third generation Marine and served 11
years in the greatest fighting force history has ever known.

Upon graduation from the US Naval Academy and receiving his
commission as an officer in the U.S. Marines, then Lieutenant Duncan  
held several positions on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon specializing in
legislative and public affairs.  

Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, he deployed to Camp
Lemonier in Djibouti, Africa where he spent two years before serving
three tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Executive Officer of a
Marine combat logistics battalion during which he was severely injured
by an improvised explosive device.











Rick resides in Denver with his family where he founded the Colorado
Veterans Alliance which has quickly grown to encompass 32,000 fellow
post 9/11 Veterans and active duty service members.
Our Mission:  To ensure the enactment of policies that properly provide for our Troops and Veterans, keep our military strong, and
guarantee our national security for the purpose of a stronger America.  CVA uniquely empowers Veterans to use their credibility and
experiences to speak truth to power, shape public opinion, and place a priority on these issues.
